A new 500 tenge banknote from the “Saka style” series is entering circulation in Kazakhstan — it is an official means of payment.
To verify the authenticity of the banknote, pay attention to the following signs:
- Relief elements should be felt by touch.
- When viewed against the light, the security thread should appear as one continuous line.
- When the banknote is tilted, a characteristic blue effect should appear.
- When viewed against the light, a watermark indicating the denomination should be clearly visible.
It is important to know that old 500 tenge banknotes remain in circulation and will be accepted everywhere until December 24, 2027, inclusive — refusal to accept them is a violation.
