Kazakhstan requires mandatory registration of mobile devices.
The IMEI is a unique number that confirms the legal import and status of the device.
IMEI Statuses:
- White List — the device is officially registered.
- Gray List — registration is not confirmed; certain restrictions may apply.
- Black List — stolen or illegally imported phones that are subject to blocking.
Why this matters:
Unregistered devices may be blocked and may not work on mobile networks in Kazakhstan.
